When I walked into a meeting today, Bill from the State Department of Social Services handed me a baggie with three one-dollar bills and a handful of change in it.
This might seem like an odd transaction to some, but when Bill told me that it was really from his six-year-old daughter, Amalie, who had broken into her piggy bank to make a donation to Foodshare, I was beyond touched.
Amalie's gift may seem small, but it is important. Each dollar of her gift will provide a full days worth of food for someone in need.
More important, it keeps my faith in the upcoming generations and hope for the future alive.
Thank you, Amalie!
Thank you Gloria for all that you do every day and for aknowledging Amalia's donation in such special way. You really made her day and mine too!
