Governor's Care and Share drive kicks off

I was pleased to join Lieutenant Governor Nancy Wyman and representives of various state agencies and the Connecticut Food Bank yesterday to kick off the annual "Governor's Care and Share" campaign.

This effort by state employees raises both food and money for that Foodshare and Connecticut Food Bank to help feed people in need, not only at the holidays, but all year long.

In the past state employees have enthusiastically undertaken the challenge and even engaged in a little friendly competition between departments.  In fact, the Department of Correction folks at the meeting were quick to tell me they are geared up to exceed last year's efforts and to take home the trophy for the most raised!

I'll look forward to hearing their results!
