Empty Bowls event

Selecting a bowl is the first
challenge of the day!
The 15th Annual Empty Bowls Project  sponsored and hosted by Manchester Community College on October 27th was a huge success, despite the specter of Storm Sandy!  Hundreds of people came out  to pick their favorite handmade or store donated bowl, make their $15 donation to Foodshare, and sample some of the 40 soups graciously donated by local restaurants, the MCC Culinary Arts School, and Sysco.  Some of the favorites -- Butternut Squash Bisque, Chicken Tortilla, and  Corn Chowder  -- went fast.  The event raised more than $12,000 for Foodshare’s work to end hunger in the region.

And then selecting a soup from the several
delicious varieties!

Foodshare is grateful to SBM Charitable Foundation, Manchester Community College, Greenleaf Pottery, Sysco Food Systems and for their lead sponsorship support, and to member of the MCC Empty Bowls Committee and all of the volunteers who donate their time and talent to make this event happen.
