Foodshare closed at noon today to give our hard-working team a well-deserved break.  You can count on us being back at it on Monday morning, making sure that food gets out to people who need it.
This is a season of gratitude and words that spoke to me this week were from song by John Bucchino, entitled "Grateful:"
"I've got a roof over my head.  I've got a warm place to sleep.
Some nights I lie awake counting gifts instead of sheep.
I've got a heart that can hold love.  I've got a mind that can think.
Grateful, truly grateful I am."
I would add to this list how grateful I am to have a job like this one and a chance to work with people like you.  We make a difference every day and we have made a special difference for so many families this Thanksgiving.
I've been inspired to gratitude this week by children emptying their piggy banks to make donations, by volunteers standing out in the cold collecting donations, by companies making large donations, by individuals making both large and not-so-large donations, and by the spirit of generosity that has abounded.
Thank you.  Thank you.  Thank you.
May you have blessed and joy-filled holiday!
