The 30th Annual Walk Against Hunger is one month away – on Sunday, May 5! Where have the months gone? Where have the years gone?
I hope you will consider supporting the Walk Against Hunger – it’s the largest anti-hunger fundraiser in the state and more important than ever. Foodshare has seen a 30% increase in demand at local food pantries since the start of the recession. And while the economic forecast may be looking a little brighter, that demand has not changed, for the people we serve were the first to be hurt by a bad economy and will be the last to recover.
You can support the Walk Against Hunger in any of several ways:
· Come out and Walk. You get to raise funds for your favorite anti-hunger organization and be part of the movement to end hunger. To sign up for the Walk, go here.
· Organize a team from your workplace, your house of worship, or a school. To create a team, go here.
· Volunteer that day. To sign up for volunteer opportunities, go here.
· Donate to someone who is walking.
I will be walking once again, and while I would love to have you join me, if you cannot, you can make a donation to support me in the Walk Against Hunger, by going here.
