New polling data show that support for SNAP remains high. Seven in 10 voters say that cutting food stamp funding is the wrong way to reduce government spending. Nearly 75% say SNAP is important, and over 40 believe it is very important. Only 23% say the federal government should be spending less on fighting hunger, while 77% say it should be spending more or the same as it does now.
