St. Gabriel School in Windsor recently sent along this photo and note about a project that their kindergarten class undertook:
Dear Foodshare,
Our jelly jar challenge started with one kindergarteners idea to help the needy in our community. Not only did it help the needy, but it also helped the children with their counting. Each day we counted our jars of jelly that were donated for the day. After the challenge ended, we counted the total amount of jars.
The collection also sparked discussions among the children in class about what needy meant and other ways we might be able to help the less fortunate.
Over all, it was truly a wonderful community building experience.
Mrs. Johnson
