Mobile Foodshare idea spreads

While Foodshare did not originate the idea of a mobile food pantry - that would be Feeding America West Michigan - we were one of the early adopters in the northeast.

As a result, we have hosted people from other Feeding America food banks, including the Connecticut Food Bank, the Gemma Moran United Way/Labor Food Center, the Greater Boston Food Bank, the Food Bank for Westchester, and the Food Bank of Western Massachusetts to see how we operate Mobile Foodshare and help them think through how to bring the program to their communities.

The Food Bank of Western Massachusetts recently launched their own mobile pantry program and sent us this photo and note:

"Here are a couple of pix that I took from our inaugural mobile distribution!  It went REALLY well, and we served 119 households!

"I would have taken more pictures but I’m on crutches L….bad timing for that!  But at least I got there!!

"Hope you are well, and thank you for all your guidance as I’m sure it’s a BIG reason we did so well for our launch!"
