Church youth group volunteers

It was a Foodshare kind of day for the senior high youth group at Asylum Hill Congregational Church today.  This morning, the youth ran a food drive before the church services that raised 169 turkeys and nearly 3,000 pounds of other food.

And this evening, a small contingent of the youth came to Foodshare and helped us sort and pack apples for distribution.

There happened to be a reporter from News 8 at Foodshare covering the Turkey and Thirty campaign, so they even got their moment of fame!

Associate Minister Erica Thompson talks to News 8 about how the church
engages young people in the community.

High school senior and youth group member Dahlia is interviewed about why she volunteers.
