Shelter Protocol for Severe Cold Reactivated

As of this afternoon, shelter protocol for severe cold has been reactivated to ensure that all those who seek shelter will have a place to go during the extreme cold snap we are expecting from January 6 through January 8.

Please contact 2-1-1 for help with locating a shelter placement, to arrange for transportation to a shelter, or for assistance with overflow shelter possibilities.

Preparing for Extreme Cold

Over the next couple of days, extreme cold weather is expected to impact all of Connecticut.  Temperatures will be at or below zero degrees, and will be exacerbated by significant wind chill.

Before, during and after this extreme cold snap, you can call 2-1-1 or visit us online at www.211ct.org for information and resources. United Way 2-1-1 will have up-to-date information about places to take shelter, get warm, and more. Click on the links below to access our extreme cold weather preparation resources.
