Extreme couponer Heather Martin spends hours each week cutting, collecting, and using coupons to save thousands of dollars on groceries. Her storage room is stacked with piles of paper towel; hundreds of bottles of detergent, shampoo, and conditioner; soap; toothpaste; razors and deodorant--the spoils she has collected in the past six months of couponing. Martin is part of a group of couponers that, rather than hoard the items stored in their basements, plans to donate their goods at the end of the month to New Opportunities, a Meriden organization that helps struggling families.
