Move that bus!

The Hartford Food System recently acquired this bus, which they will be retro-fitting to function as a year-round farmers market on wheels. The bus will serve low-income Hartford neighborhoods where people often do not have access to good quality and affordable fresh produce.

Foodshare's Transportation Manager, Dom Piccini (on the right in the photo), has been helping Pauline Zaldonis (left in photo), the coordinator for the project to learn about licensing and other issues related to operating this kind of commercial vehicle. And, since the Hartford Food System has not yet hired a driver with the appropriate license for the project, Dom stopped down today to help them move the bus from the location where it was delivered to the location where it will be painted.

We are glad to be able to help and wish the Hartford Food System much success with this important project!
