A New Volunteering Opportunity

Volunteer Monitor:

Foodshare’s Agency Services Department is seeking a volunteer to conduct basic compliance inspections of partner agencies that provide non-emergency food assistance, such as afterschool programs, residential programs, and nutrition education programs.

Monitoring visits ensure that agencies receiving donated product adhere to well-defined food handling, storage, and distribution practices. A typical visit is 45 minutes or less, exclusive of travel time.

Volunteers would need to complete an online food safety training course, attend an Agency Orientation, and shadow an Agency Services Coordinator through at least two monitoring visits. A six-month commitment comprising 2-3 visits per month is preferred. Reliable transportation is required.
