Roughly 1.7
million veterans live in households that participated in SNAP at some point
during the past 12 months. In every state, thousands of struggling veterans use
SNAP to help put food on the table; in two states, Florida (132,100) and Texas
(119,200), more than 100,000 veterans do. In 10 states, at least 10% of
veterans lived in households that received SNAP in the last year. In
Connecticut, SNAP helped 14,200 veterans, about 6% of the state’s total vet
population.
