Tri-Town HAT looking into a backpack program

Members of the Tri-Town Hunger Action Team (HAT) met for the first monthly meeting of 2015 on Jan. 13, and brainstormed some new ways to get food to those in need, especially targeting weekend hunger for children who receive meals at their schools.

Bea Maslowski – Community Network Builder with Foodshare – said the group was formerly the Vernon HAT, but expanded to include Tolland and Ellington late in 2014.
