"Values in Action"

The Farmington Valley Hunger Collaborative was pleased to support "Values in Action", a meal packaging event which was held on Saturday January 17th at the Farmington Valley American Muslim Center (FVAMC) in Avon. We started with a goal of creating 25,000 meals including Mac and Cheese, as well as lentils and rice. The event exceeded expectations and went over goal. 32,184 meals were packed and paid for. 20+ faith and civic groups and over 300 volunteers contributed to the effort which resulted in 149 boxes of meals being delivered to local food pantries to support hungry neighbors in Avon, Burlington, Canton, Farmington, Granby, and Simsbury. We hope to make this an annual event.
