Throughout the month of September, ShopRite associates across six states banded together in a friendly competition sponsored by ShopRite and General Mills. ShopRite associates collected donations at check-out and held various events, raising $1.31 million to support local food banks.

As one of the winning stores (and the top fundraising store in the state), the ShopRite of Canton was honored with the selection of two associates featured on 125,000 special-edition Cheerios boxes, sold exclusively at ShopRite stores. Overall, the Canton team raised over $17,482, followed by the Joseph Family’s West Hartford store, which raised $13,272, for a combined total of $30,754. Since the company’s inception in 2010, Joseph Family Markets has contributed over $151,700 to the local fight against hunger.

“We recognize the need in our communities and are happy to do whatever we can to help feed our hungry neighbors,” said Chuck Joseph, owner of Joseph Family Markets. “We are so proud of the passion and dedication of our associates, who rally around this cause. It really is a team effort.”
