U.S Poor Spend High Pecentage of Income on Food

Data from the Economic Research Service has shown that poorer households spend a greater share of their income on food. This trend means that higher food prices disproportionately affect the spending behavior of low-income households and often require them to allocate a larger share of their incomes to food.
