Environmental nonprofit REVERB and the Dave Matthews Band are continuing the good work of The Bama Green Project for their 34-city summer 2013 tour. At each stop they are partnering with a local food bank and local farm to raise awareness, encourage sustainability, and help provide food to hungry people.
The tour will be stopping in Hartford on Friday, June 7, and Saturday, June 8, at the Comcast Theater, and the concerts here will benefit Foodshare and dairy collective The Farmer’s Cow
At both concerts, fans will be able to help Foodshare’s work by purchasing custom Dave Matthews Band basil seed packets for $5/each. This money donated will be used to purchase dairy products from the farmers of The Farmer’s Cow, which will allow Foodshare the opportunity to provide local milk and cream to hungry residents of Hartford and Tolland counties. With the Comcast Theater seating 30,000 people, the project has the potential provide a significant amount of essential nutrition to families that are struggling to put food on the table.
The band says that fans can also help local food pantries Gifts of Love and Hands on Hartford by bringing canned and packaged food to be collected at the concerts.
