Day of Caring seeking projects for this fall

United Way Day of Caring is celebrating its 20th anniversary, and your nonprofit organization, school, park, or social service agency is invited to join in the fun by hosting a volunteer project or two this fall!

Throughout the months of September and October, volunteers are looking to help deserving organizations in the 40 towns served by United Way of Central and Northeastern Connecticut.  Last year, more than 5,600 workplace volunteers joined together on this day to complete hands-on projects including cleaning up playgrounds, serving meals to the elderly, clearing hiking trails, reading books to children, painting murals, and much more.  United Way staff support you before, during and after the event with coordinator training, online project registration, ongoing communication, event evaluations and more.  Complete information about the Year of Caring can be found here.

To host a volunteer project, please contact Libby Richardson at 860-493-1109 or lrichardson@unitedwayinc.org.  Please feel free to pass this information on to others who you feel would benefit from energetic and enthusiastic volunteers!
