Observations about Mobile Foodshare

I recently received this e-mail from Linda, the Beat of the Street newspaper Administrator:

"Dear Gloria,

"It was recently my pleasure to first observe, then take a more active role in your Mobile Foodshare program.  I was impressed by so many aspects of what this program does and how efficiently it runs.  Watching the food move from storage, to truck, to distribution location, then set up and distribution to the clients, by clients, is amazing. The partnering with the University of Saint Joseph's nutrition program is innovative.  The volunteer efforts put forth by the neighborhood residents was admirable.  I was amazed that 214 people were provided with fresh produce and bakery goods in less than one hour.  And everything about the operation went smoothly and was extremely well organized.

"Probably the most impressive thing about my experience was observing the dedication, compassion and true spirit of friendship shown by the driver, Alan Prior.  Upon the truck's arrival he was greeted with many smiles, handshakes and hugs.  His concern and affection for the clients he serves is genuine, as is theirs in return.  No question about job satisfaction there!  And I can't imagine a better ambassador for Foodshare.

"Thank you for this opportunity.  I hope the article that comes from it reflects how much I admire and appreciate what I observed."

Regards,
