After the usual Christmas morning kind of stuff, including a visit with my brother and his family, I headed out on what has been an annual Christmas tradition for me for a dozen years or so - a Christmas Day hike at Belding Wildlife Management Area in Vernon. I choose that location for its beauty but also because someone decorates for the holiday in a couple of places on the property. About 20 people from my hiking group joined me for the walk.
Then seven of us went out for Chinese food afterwards. There was actually only one person in the group that went to the restaurant that I had known before today's hike. But we had a great time getting to know each other and a really good meal.
When it came time to ask for the check, our waiter was all excited to tell us that a gentleman who had been sitting alone in the back of the restaurant had paid our bill for us! He was already gone, so we now we all know that it's up to us to pay it forward!
Hoping your Christmas has also included some magic!
