Governor's Care and Share food drive wraps up

Governor Malloy congratulated state employees on Monday on a successful Governor's Care and Share food drive which raised over $20,000 and 4,000 pounds of food for Foodshare and the Connecticut Food Bank.

State employees have a lot of fun with the campaign, making it more than just a canned food drive, by having an interdepartmental volleyball tournament!

And the department that raised the most for Care and Share was the Department of Corrections.  The team there is involved with the food banks throughout the year, including donating produce raised on prison property to the summer.

Connecticut has great state employees, thanks to each and every one!
