Asylum Hill Hunger Action Team update

Foodshare staffer Jim Palma sent me this message about what he was working on yesterday...

"I had the pleasure of working with volunteer Peter Chenette yesterday showing kids, through our SNAP Challenge Food cards, how difficult it is to buy healthy food on a SNAP budget.  Foodshare was paired with Hands on Hartford for the 11th Annual South Marshall Street Block Party.  This event is sponsored by several Asylum Hill Hunger Action Team members, including Nancy and Mike Rion from Immanuel Congregational Church, the Salvation Army, Hartford Public Library, Boys & Girls Club, Grace Lutheran Church and Asylum Hill Congregational Church.

"During a break in the rush of kids, Wanda Guzman, Volunteer Coordinator from Hands on Hartford put a lady bug on my face… what a great day!"

Would you like to become involved in a Hunger Action Team and help address hunger in your community?  Get in touch with Jim to learn more.
